Summary

A Roman inhumation accompanied by an Iron dagger, two rings, a cup ,a bowl, flint balls and two black vessels was found in 1888. The finds were deposited at Dorchester Museum.

Full Description

Found in 1888 at the East side of the island: an inhumation burial with an iron dagger, two iron rings, two black vessels, a drinking cup and a bowl, and three flint balls. The objects are now in Dorchester Museum. (1) No further information was obtained during field investigation. The curator of Dorchester Museum could not be consulted. The finds would appear to have been Roman.(2)
