Old chalk pit marked on the first edition Ordnance Survey map (1). Also marked on the second edition map (2). A pit is visible as an earthwork on Lidar imagery of Rings Hill (3). It is considered likely to be the remains of the post medieval chalk pit mentioned above. This feature was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
