Full Description

Old quarries marked on the first edition of the OS map, also marked on the second edition (1) The post medieval quarries described above in (1) are visible as earthworks on recent lidar imagery to the west of Durlston Dairy Bungalow. The quarries are located on limestone and consist of a number of closely spaced pits. They are visible over an area measuring approximately 220 m by 175 m. (2-3) This site was digitally plotted during the South west Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
