Full Description

Two circular features in saltmarsh, seen on 2002 AP. (1) Two circular hollows are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of saltmarsh along the northern edge of Wareham Channel taken in 1947 (2). They are considered likely to be the remains of bomb craters associated with Second World War activity in the area. These features are still visible on the most recent comprehansive aerial imagey available to the project (3). They were digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
