A complex of post medieval sand, clay and gravel pits visible as earthworks are marked on the first and second edition OS maps (1/2) and are also visible on aerial photographs (3) taken near Hamworthy in Poole during 1947. Brickworks (MWX4249) and Kilns (MWX4266) are also recorded in the local area and are likely to be related. The site is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial imagery available to the project. (4/5) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
