A pier or quay is marked on 1840 Tithe Map at Gold Point, Arne. A rectilinear structure is visible as a submerged feature on aerial photographs of Gold Point taken in 1947. It is considered likely to be the remains of the post medieval pier shown here on the 1840 Tithe Map.

Full Description
A pier or quay is marked on 1840 Tithe Map at Gold Point, Arne (1).
A rectilinear structure is visible as a submerged feature on aerial photographs of Gold Point taken in 1947 (2). It is considered likely to be the remains of the post medieval pier shown here on the 1840 Tithe Map. It was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). This feature is not visible on the most recent comprehensive imagery available to the project (3).
