Full Description
A ferry crossing or Jetty marked on the second edition OS map and visible on aerial photographs taken at Chickerell Hive Point in 1946 (1/2). This area or one very close to it, is marked on a chart of 1787 as 'A Passage for Punts' (3). The site is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial imagery available to the project (4/5). This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
