Old tramway marked on the second edition of the OS map. (1)
Quarry tramway from Portland Bill to Red Crane shipping place, worked by F.J. Barnes and John Pearce 1889-1893. (2) Shown as 'Old Tramway' with rails on map of 1900 (3), and the course only in 1926 (4) Sleeper blocks survive in the quarry nearest the lighthouse, there is a cutting, and rails are exposed near the crane. (5)
