A linear structure, approximately 60m in length and 1m wide, is visible on aerial photographs of the forshore at Castle Cove, Weymouth, taken in 1947 (1). It is considered likely to be the remains of the landing stage described above. This feature was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). This feature is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial photographs available to the project.
