A group of pits are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs to the south of Seven Barrows Farm. They are considered likely to be remains of the post medieval gravel pit recorded here on the 2nd Edition OS Map.

Full Description

Gravel pits marked on the second edition OS map (1). A group of pits are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs to the south of Seven Barrows Farm (2-3). They are considered likely to be remains of the post medieval gravel pit recorded here on the 2nd Edition OS Map. These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project. They are not visible on the most recent Google Earth imagery, having since been levelled by modern quarrying.
