A group of pits are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of a field to the north-east of Ferncroft Farm. They are considered likely to be remains of the post medieval gravel pit recorded here on the 2nd Edition OS Map. These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project. They are not visible on the most recent Google Earth imagery.
