Summary
Two pits are visible as earthworks and cropmarks on aerial photographs of a field to the north-east of Ferncroft Farm. They are considered likely to be remains of the post medieval sand pit recorded here on the 2nd Edition OS Map. These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.

A sand pit marked on the second edition OS map (1).
Two pits are visible as earthworks and cropmarks on aerial photographs of a field to the north-east of Ferncroft Farm (2-5). They are considered likely to be remains of the post medieval sand pit recorded here on the 2nd Edition OS Map. These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
