Full Description
A Bronze Age sword, recovered from the north side of Westham Bridge. (1) The length of the sword is 25 1/2 inches and the blade is perfect although part of the hilt is missing. The area was excavated in November 1936 while the sewer was being laid and 7 feet below the bed of the Backwater a skull and ulna was found, about 50 feet N. of Westham Bridge, in close proximity to a sword recovered in 1920. (2)
