Full Description
Site of station on the Easton and Church Hope railway, opened 1900 and closed to passengers in 1952 and entirely in 1965. <1>
The whole site included the railway station, engine shed, goods shed, signal box, sidings and a footbridge at the south end as shown on maps. <2-4>
Engine shed demolished by 1956. Station site and footbridge cleared in December 1972 and became Lady Head Hall, old people's dwellings. Although the footbridge (to Bloomfield Terrace) has been removed, the line of the path survives. Early photographs show the footbridge had stone piers and an iron lattice structure, but was replaced in solid iron. Published photographs also show the whole station layout. <5-6>
