An unidentified horseshoe shaped feature on Chesil Beach visible on a 1940s AP, possibly a vessel? (1) The remains of a structure is visible on aerial photographs of Chesil Beach taken in 1946 (2), located at NGR SY 66700 75285. It is of uncertain date and function. It is possible this could be the remains of a wreck. This feature was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). It is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial images available tot he project.
