A possible wreck in a creek at Corfe Castle, visible on a 1940s AP (1).
The remains of a structure, approximately 11.1m x 20.9m, is visible on aerial photographs of the creek off Fitzworth Point taken in 1947 (2). It is possible it could be the remains of a ship wreck. Alternatively it could be a vessel or structure associated with Second World War activities in this area. This feature was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). It is not visible on the most recent comprehensive imagery available to the project (3).
