A location where landing craft were moored prior to disposal, visible on an AP from 1947 (1).
A group of moored vessels are visible on aerial photographs of Shipstal Point taken in 1947 (2). They are considered likely to be vessels associated with Second World War military activities in this area. This site is probably a location where military landing craft were moored prior to their disposal after the War. These vessels were digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). They are no longer visible on the most recent comprehensive imagery available to the project (3).
