(Name centred SY 343 919) Lyme Regis [NAT] <1> Lyme Regis is first mentioned in 1284 when a charter from Edward I created a free borough with merchant guild and other privileges. In 1285 another charter was granted confirming and amplifying that of 1284. <2>
