Summary
Post-medieval lime kiln excavated on the line of an access road for the Wytch Plantation Gathering Station in 1987. A subsquare structure and associated trackway are visible on aerial photographs of Wytch Heath, Corfe Castle taken in 1946. It is possible this could be the remains of the post medieval lime kiln described above.

Full Description
Post-medieval lime kiln excavated on the line of an access road for the Wytch Plantation Gathering Station in 1987. (1)
A subsquare structure, approximately 8m x 8.4m, and associated trackway are visible on aerial photographs of Wytch Heath, Corfe Castle taken in 1946 (2). It is located at NGR SY 97535 84824. It is considered possible this could be the remains of the post medieval lime kiln described above. These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
