"January 3 1821 The Sprightly Cutter came on shore this side Blacknor Close to the Pier a very hard gale of wind at the Eastward a very great snow" Notebook of Portland Parish Clerk D547/1 (1) The building date for this vessel is an estimate based on an average age at wrecking of twenty years. This average is derived from those vessels wrecked on the Dorset coast whose age at wrecking is known.
