Summary

A railway line originally operating between Ringwood and Christchurch, opened in 1862 and operated by South Western Railway. It was extended to Bournemouth East station, now the depot 1/4 mile East of Bournemouth Central Station, in 1870. The line closed in 1935.

Full Description

The Ringwood, Christchurch and Bournemouth Company was incorporated in 1859 to construct a single track railway from Ringwood to Christchurch, a distance of eight miles. It was opened in 1862 and worked by South Western Railway. Closed in 1935. (1)
