Full Description
Two Romano-British sherds, one of a bowl with internal groove and the other a rim sherd of a reeded-rim bowl were found circa 1962 by R. Newman at SY 995773, above Dancing Ledge and south of the new quarries. No other traces of settlement were noticed by Farrar who visited the site in 1963, but much of the adjacent area was under grass (see however SY 97 NE 45 for later discoveries in the area). <1>
