Full Description
Houses at Little Kimmeridge are shown on Taylor's Map of Dorset 1795 and OS 1 1811. <1-2>
Former medieval settlement of Little Kimmeridge, named as Parva Kymerych in 1316 Feet of Fines and Little Kemerych in 1374 Calendar of Close Rolls. Strip lynchets of the settlement lie to the north. Hutchins describes it as a little farm where there are some remains of an old house now fast falling to ruin. <3-9>
Target earthworks of a wartime military firing range on the site at SY 923783 were levelled in about 1960. <6>
There are no remains of this settlement, presumably the last remnants of which were destroyed in 1960, it is now under a cereal crop. <10>
