Full Description
Bronze implements from or near Wareham (SY 9287), now in the Cunnington Collection, Dorset County Museum, Dorchester. (i) Very light palstave, crudely cast, with only a shallow shoulder. (ii) Small, narrow-edge palstave (1 3/8 in) with shallow shoulder, but more solid than the above. (iii) Palstave, crudely cast, with normal curved edge (2 1/4 ins wide) with deeper shoulder. (iv) Socketed axe with three fillets on each side but with ring missing (1) is undoubtedly the distinctive South Welsh - type socketed axe found at Wareham and listed by Moore (2).
