Abstract/Summary
An archaeological watching brief was carried out by Terrain Archaeology between July and August 2008 during emergency water main repairs along the side of East Walls in North Bestwall Road, Wareham. A total of six trenches were excavated during the groundworks. A dark greyish-brown silt was exposed in a number of the trenches, which may be part of the upper deposits of the town ditch, but the trenches were very small and it is difficult to be confident about the interpretation of the exposed deposits. No dating evidence was recovered.
