Abstract/Summary
Report by AC archaology on the archaeological monitoring of groundworks for a new outbuilding in March 2002. The site lies within the projected course of the Dorset Cursus. Ground disturbance involved the removal of an existing 5m x 5m slab and the excavation of shallow (200mm) footings trenches 300mm wide around the perimeter of the 15m x 5m site. The depth of the trenches was insufficient to penetrate colluvial soils at the base of the valley, and no archaeological features or pre-modern finds were encountered.
