Abstract/Summary
The RCHM E conducted a small excavation during the summers of 1950 and 1951 in the middle ward of Corfe Castle hard against the north face of the south curtain wall adjacent to a section of herring bone masonry. It was possible to establish that an earlier building than the herring bone masonry had existed on the western half of the site and to establish a stratification pertaing to the herring-bone wall itself.
