Abstract/Summary

AC Archaeology conducted an archaeological watching brief during groundworks associated with the construction of a new car park at Gillingham School in September 2005. This work followed an archaeological evaluation undertaken earlier in the same year which identified extensive evidence for medieval occupation across much of the site. No further evidence for archaeological activity was revealed during the groundworks. However, the excavation of a balancing pond in the southernmost portion of the site revealed a number of archaeological features likely to be associated with the medieval occupation.
