Abstract/Summary
'An archaeological evaluation, comprising the manual excavation of two trenches, was undertaken on the site of a proposed residential development in Trinity Lane. The trenches were excavated to a maximum depth of c. 600mm, consistent with the proposed ground disturbance of the new construction. The trenches revealed black humic sandy soils similar to material seen widely across Wareham and representing a deep post-Medieval soil deposit. No archaeological features or finds were revealed. While the site may contain, at depth, medieval deposits of significance these are unlikely to be affected by the present foundation design on the site.'
