SDO13914 - Archaeological Evaluation of Land at Goldcroft Road, Weymouth, Dorset (NGR SY668798)

An archaeological evaluation was carried out, in November 1992, of an area of around 3 hectares adjacent to Weymouth Golf Course. The investigation comprised the excavation of six trenches, each of 100 metres length. Finds of post-Medieval date were recovered from the topsoil and several modern features were observed cut into the underlying Oxford Clay. These features are likely to be land drainage channels.
