Abstract/Summary
Report on observations and recording during groundworks for an extension to the rear of 48 South Street, a listed building. There was evidence of post-medieval pitting dating to the 16th/early 17th centuries. One of the two pits also contained a small assemblage of residual medieval UGSD ware, the oxidised component of which was probably pre AD 1200. A stone-lined well probably contemporary with the extant 18th century building was also recorded.
