SDO15546 - Heritage Statement in respect of the medical centre, Milton Abbey School, Blandford Forum, Dorset

'Milton Abbey School is a residential school aproximately 14 km to the south west of Blandford Forum and immediately west of the village of Milton Abbas. The school occupies the Grade 1 listed fomer country house, the Grade 1 listed former abbots hall and kitchen and a number of other listed buildings within a Grade II registered park and garden. This report provides a description of the significance of the heritage assets affected by proposals for the redevelopment of the schools medical centre and an assessment of the impact of the proposals'. 'The proposals would involve the sympathetic reuse of the medical school buildings in order for the school to implement the proposals in its master plan. The alterations being proposed … have been designed to take account of the special interest of the listed buildings and their setting. As a result it is contended that the scale and nature of the proposals would not result in any harmful impact on the significances identified.'
