Abstract/Summary
‘A detailed gradiometry survey was conducted over approximately 27 hectares of mixed arable farmland and grassland. A probable former medieval field system has been identified, supporting information from the HER search, and indicates that the site has an agricultural past. Former field boundaries and weak evidence of ridge and furrow provide further evidence of the site being used for agricultural purposes since the medieval period. Possible backfilled pits and linear anomalies may be of archaeological origin, though this cannot be determined with confidence. The remaining features are natural or modern and include evidence of ploughing, land drains, services, scattered magnetic debris and disturbance from nearby ferrous objects.’
