Description
Ancient Monuments Laboratory Report. 'Only on the eastern and north-eastern edges is the fort at all clearly defined, although internal features, and especially those associated with the former rampart, are frequently very magnetic and help define the site’s outer dimensions where crucial ditch anomalies are lacking. All four sides of the rectangle can therefore be positioned with some confidence and a sufficiently large area of the site has now been covered for an overall internal symmetry to be detectable. The fort appears to cover an area of some 12.8 hectares and may have a standardized internal subdivision based on rectangular units of approximately 80 x 50 meters. '
