Abstract/Summary

A small scale excavation was carried out in advance of development at the rear of the former Dingles store, off Princes Street, Dorchester in October 1989. A single 25sqm trench was excavated revealing vestigial remains of two late Roman stone buildings, aligned almost parallel and at a right angle to Princes Street. The only later features were amorphous hollows dating from the 18th-19th centuries
