Abstract/Summary
Brief summary of known and expected archaeological features within and around the development area. These include the Roman building remains found at Dagmar and Olga Roads in 1899, the Roman approach road from Exeter and burials alongside this road. Also a possible early road alignment crosses the site.
It lies within open fields of Fordington. No record of any pre-hospital buildings on the site. In recent times used as allotments. The ground surface has been severely disturbed or destroyed during landscaping associated with the phase 1 hospital development.
