Abstract/Summary
The Site lies just outside the eastern edge of the Roman town of Durnovaria. There is no recorded archaeology from the Site, other than part of the post-medieval watermeadow system. Its location on the floodplain of the River Frome makes it unlikely that the site has ever been a focus for occupation in the past. It is always likely to have been agricultural land. The projected line of the eastern approach road to the Roman town crosses the southern edge of the access road to the Site.
The archaeological potential of the Site is low, but any potential prehistoric and Roman archaeological resource is likely to be well preserved beneath alluvial deposits.
