Abstract/Summary
A study of all known Iron Age bridle-bits from Britain down to c.200AD. All bits have been classified, catalogued and illustrated. The geographic distribution, contexts and associations of the bits is discussed and the decorative schemes are described. A chronological framework is attempted. The techniques of manufacture and use of the bits is considered.
