A commentary on Major Coates’ thesis on the existence of a Roman aqueduct at Dorchester. Generally favourable. Discusses construction, fall and flow rates with reference to Vitruvius. Description of three sections cut across the aqueduct at Bradford Peverell, Combe Bottom and Poundbury. Also some description of the archaeological features exposed during the construction of the Borough Gardens
