Abstract/Summary
A summary of the results of an archaeological assessment of the area of an extension and new flare pit at Wellsite A in the Wytch Farm Oilfield. The Trust for Wessex Archaeology was commissioned to carry out the work by BP Petroleum Development Ltd.
Work took the form of a geophysical survey and trial pits. In general, the topsoil was shallow and no substantial subsoil layers were encountered. On possible archaeological feature was encountered - a shallow, linear feature, perhaps the remains of a field boundary.
