ST 81 SW HAMMOON HAMMOON VILLAGE
3/87 Cross base approximately 30 m
4-10-60 south of church St Paul.
(formerly listed as Remains
of Village Cross)
GV II
Cross base, probably C15. Stone. Square, chamfered at the top to form
an octagon. Vertical member cemented into the base could be a part of the
original shaft. The base was moved to its present site from nearer the
church in 1913. Scheduled as an Ancient Monument. (RCHM, Dorset, Vol
III, p 101, No 6).
