Public House. C15 core. C17 ceiling and later alterations. Stone walls, rendered. Thatch roof with gable ends and block ridging. Stone gable coping at right hand gable. 3 brick stacks at left hand gable, backing on to former cross-passage, at right hand gable. Small rear wing at centre, with a stone gable coping. 2 storeys. 4 windows, renewed 3 light mullions with hollow chamfers. C20 metal casements with leaded lights. Front door, left of centre, C20 plank with small glass leaded lights over. C20 rendered porch with Tudor-style arch-head, Ilchester Arms incised above in capitals. Pitch gable with thatch roof. Interior: deep chamfered ceiling beams with filleted stops making large compartments. Large open fireplace 8 ft x 4 ft, chamfered wooden lintel, mitred corners and chamfered stone jambs, backs on to former cross-passage. Roof: 5 arch-braced collar-beam, trusses, collars above ceiling. 2 sets of chamfered through-purlins. Chamfered wind-braces in the 3 central bays, fixing original Open Hall area, C15.
