Description

Work on three shallow trial pits commenced by a structural engineer ceased upon the discovery of archaeological remains. These pits were subsequently enlarged into archaeological test pits, dug by hand. The extent of the excavations was in accordance with the requirments of the structural engineer, who monitored and supervised the work.
