Description
AC archaeology undertook an evaluation of the grounds of Heathcote House, Icen Way, Dorchester in August 1991 in advance of a proposed housing development.
Two trenches were excavated comprising a 1.6% sample of the proposed development area. These revealed a broad trend of soil accumulation from southeast to northwest. One possible Roman linear feature was revealed in trench 2 together with and parallel to a possible medieval linear feature. Most of the layers and features were 19th century in date.
