Description

An evaluation of an area (Area A) adjacent to Henbury Pit. A mechanical excavator was used to dig three trenches, comprising 1.5% of the area of the proposed extension to the pit. No subsoil deposits of archaeological origin or artefacts indicating activity in the area were observed. An earthwork bank forming the eastern boundary of the area was interpreted as a probable estate boundary.
