Description

Observation and recording during digging of two pits by hand for underpinning of the rear wall of the house, and a foundation trench for an extension. Spoil was scanned for finds of archaeological significance. Three infilled ditches and one possible feature/layer were recorded at the interface between ploughsoil and natural chalk. None of these were datable, though it is probable that the ditches are part of a complext of medieval boundary ditches previously recorded in the vicinity.
