EDO5976 - Forston Water Treatment Works, Charminster; geophysical survey 2015

Detailed gradiometer survey of approximately 0.35 ha of grassland did not identify any anomalies of probable archaeological origin. This was thought likely to have been due to the small size of the survey area limiting confident interpretation of anomalies rather than a lack of archaeological activity. Some anomalies may relate to a Roman villa identified by earlier excavation. Other anomalies were modern in origin and relating to services and disturbance associated with the adjacent water treatment works.
