Description

During building extensions, a ditch was uncovered and excavated in a post medieval deer park. The excavator concluded that the ditch was probably the outer ditch of the deer park boundary, and post-medieval in origin. It remained in use for some time before being backfilled, probably in association with domestic occupation of the site in the late 17th or 18th century.
