Description
Southern Archaeology Services undertook a programme of hand dug and machine dug evaluation trenches on land at Highmoor Farm, Talbot Heath, Poole in 1997. This had been preceded by a desk-based assessment and a geophysical survey.
Four hand dug trenches were dug along the eastern boundary of the site and seven machine trenches were dug to investigate geophysical anomalies. Seven undated shallow ditches were found. The eastern boundary of the site forms the boundary between Poole and Bournemouth and comprised a double bank with a central ditch.
