Full Description

A few sherds of Romano-British pottery were found (together with a Romano-Celtic brooch of Aucissa type) in September 1939 when digging air raid trenches along the south side of the path to Max Gate, about 35 yards NE of the north wing of the Dorchester Grammar School. They were found in 'dark earth' and no structural features were noticed. (1)
